I’ve had at least a few times where I wanted to add an image to a comment in my WordPress blog but never took the time to investigate it thoroughly. The excerpt is used in several places in your WordPress blog. If you don’t add an excerpt for a post, the summary is taken from the first paragraph of the post. It is a good idea to create an excerpt for your articles because it gives you more control over what is displayed in the places that use the excerpt. Some featured post sliders also use the excerpt.
