Video Series
The Video Series is a compliation of animations, cartoons, interesting talks, discussions, interviews, and maybe even a few monologues on subjects related to business development for local enterprises with a web presence.
Before I talk about the videos you will find on LocalBusinessCoachOnline.com, let me give you some quick info on how to make your own videos to share on your business website. One of my clients asked me recently, "How would I go about creating a video for my site?" I gave him a quick how-to, but here is a more comprehensive (but easy to follow) set of video tutorials to get you started.
Avoid Getting Overwhelmed, Start Here: 4 Steps To Publish
The video below tells you a little about the Make Internet TV site so you can feel at ease with hopping over there and following along.
When you want to go a little deeper, doing editing and getting a bit fancier, visit the part of the site that includes six chapters of in-depth video tutorials. Make Internet TV covers these 6 chapters: Equipment, Shoot (Audio and Video), Edit, License, Publish, and Promote.
If you just want to know how to add videos you’ve come across to your WordPress blog, I’ve written a short tutorial, Several Ways to Add Video To Your WordPress Blog Posts.
Now, a bit about the Video Series here at LocalBusinessCoachOnline.com, found in the CoachNotes blog.
Some of the videos and films are animated. Many of these are hilarious, if not in concept, then in antics.
Some are in classic black and white, with vintage music, and old-timey narrations.
Some are silent, or have music but not dialogue.
Some are entertaining, others disturbing, all informative.
Economic Development Video Series
The Economic Development Video Series is comprised of both vintage and modern videos and films highlighting economic development, industrial build-up, global trade, labor, foreign relations, diversity, myths, advertising, and profit motives. When compared to your local business and, perhaps the business you do business with, you’ll see similarities, contrasts, discover new concepts, discard old or wrong ideas, confirm what you already knew, and more. You’re free to draw your own conclusions.
Don’t be shy! Share your comments on the series as a whole or just on the individual films. There’s a comment form underneath each video.

What Inspired This Particular Series?
I’m fond of old movies, black and white films, and stuff from "back in the day," recognizing that many of the ideas and concepts we take for granted today sprang up long before we ever hit the scene.
A lot of these videos are in the public domain, especially those from before 1960. One thing I discovered was the great number of "industrial" films, created by our Federal government and wealthy companies who wanted to contribute to the well-being of our returning soldiers. Some of them are considered hokey, and others could be thought of as pure propaganda; however, the perspectives, in some cases are right on the money, so to speak. I thought you’d like a bit of perspective, curated from the archives. You might find inspiration, ideas, etc. or you might just be entertained. However it strikes you, I hope you find the series useful.
